“The Trump administration’s efforts to dismantle the Department of Education threaten the future of millions of students— including right here in Sacramento County," Said U.S. Representative Ami Bera.
“As the founder and co-chair of the California Public Higher Education Caucus, I know firsthand that with nearly 80% of college students in California attending public institutions, the impacts will be devastating. Our renowned UC, CSU and Community College systems fuel the economy, drive innovation and prepare millions for the workforce."
“Slashing federal support threatens access to affordable and high-quality education, increases student debt, reduces resources, enlarges class sizes and cuts vital programs for our most vulnerable students— directly attacking educational equity and economic mobility.
“We must stand with educators, students and families to protect public education as a pillar of opportunity for all.”
